Anthony Larson's Top 5 Fitness Tips

Anthony Larson's Top 5 Fitness Tips
Our latest brand ambassador, Anthony Larson has been sharing some of the secrets to his success. Here are his top 5 tips!

Nutrition

The best advice I could give to someone who is trying to reach a fitness goal would be to understand the nutritional requirements needed to get there. Progress is dependent upon how we fuel our workouts and recovery. You could be 100% in the gym but if your only 50% with nutrition then in total you can only expect 50% of progress. There is no one size fits all and there may be a lot of trial and error before you find that winning formula.

Workouts

In the modern era, it is quite easy to get caught up in all these magic protocols of training that are commonly shared and available to everyone. The bottom line is whatever format you use reaching the highest intensity your muscles can take should be at the forefront of your mind. Forcing it into uncomfortable places for as long as possible is where the Gateway to Gains begins.

Supplements

In the early years, supplementation was nowhere near as big as it is now and there are so many trap doors out there for people to fall into and consume calories that are not necessary and end up being counterproductive to their goals. Supplements that I believe work and use myself would be as follows:
  • Multi-vitamin
  • Glutamine
  • Creatine
  • Vitamin C
  • Omega 3 Oil
  • Whey Protein
  • Casein Protein

Track Your Progress

One of the soundest pieces of advice I could give you would be to track your progress for workouts and nutrition. You always need something to measure against and it will help you gain a knowledge and understanding of how your body reacts to the changes you are making. We are all different and if you were to seek help and advice having a log of your workouts would help you and your coach reach your goals.

Variety is the spice of life

Combining cardio and weight training is a very effective way to keep healthy. Cardio training is the best way to burn fat during activities but effective weight training creates an afterburn effect, which means your body burns calories even after you've finished exercising. Variety in your diet as well will give you a better opportunity to stay on track, healthy food does not have to be boring as I can assure you all my meals leave me feeling fulfilled. anthony larson
