We all know who Dwayne Johnson is and that his body has reached some insane levels of toning. Standing tall at a hearty 6 ft 4 and weighing around the 270-pound mark, it’s fair to say Dwayne is all muscle and very little fat. His recent roles have encouraged that start to bulk up even more in his pursuit of a Terminator-like physique.
This body does not come easily. Dwayne has a grueling daily workout routine which coincides with his 7 daily meals. The meals combine to contain a whopping 5,165 calories and weigh close to 10 pounds. All of this is consumed on a daily basis and are partnered with his exercise routines.
His high calorie diet contains a staggering amount of food: 36oz of cod, 12 whole eggs, 2 cups oatmeal, 12oz sweet potato, 4 cups veg, 8 oz chicken, 6 cups of white rice, 2 tbsp of fish oil, 8 oz of steak, 12 oz baked potato, a spinach salad and 30 grams of casein protein. Now this would be a substantial amount for most people in a week, but Dwayne consumes this on a daily basis. This insane amount of calorie intake per day requires Dwayne to wake up at 4am each day to start his fitness regime. In between all these meals, Dwayne can often find some spare time to work out.
It has been estimated that Dwayne spends as much as $1,400 a year just on fish. He consumes roughly 1,000 calories of cod each day despite the recommended intake hovering around the 2,500 calorie mark. Dwayne chooses to split his mountain of food into seven manageable meals. They are spread out as such:
- 10 oz cod, 2 whole eggs, 2 cups oatmeal
- 8 oz cod, 12 oz sweet potato, 1 cup veggies
- 8 oz chicken, 2 cups white rice, 1 cup veggie
- 8 oz cod, 2 cups rice, 1 cup veggie, 1 tbsp fish oil
- 8 oz steak, 12 oz baked potato, spinach salad
- 10 oz cod, 2 cups rice, salad
- 30 grams casein protein, 10 egg-white omelets, 1 cup veggies and 1 tbsp omega-3 fish oil.
This herculean-like diet has caused Dwayne to increase majorly in size since the early 2000’s. He looks a shadow of his former and slimmer self and seems to be growing even more thanks to his increasing popularity in Hollywood. With a diet like this we are far from surprised!
